INTRAtech – a unique product from INTRAsystems
INTRAtech entrance matting is made from precision Aluminium castings with carpet inserts. Rubber backing strips connect these to give the product a cushioned feel underfoot.
Architects Buckley Gray and Yeoman have created two zones of INTRAtech entrance matting to great effect. Firstly, just inside the entrance doors is a continuous area of matting. Secondly, individual tiles are set into the terrazzo floor in a grid pattern. As a result, the initial zone is very effective at removing most of the dirt and water from peoples’ shoes and, beyond this, the second zone continues the cleaning action whilst subtly blending into the adjacent floor finish.
Used with imagination and creativity, this product can lift the humble door mat into a functional design statement with great visual appeal.
